Famous musicians, actors and stars who have visited Costa Rica have been at the Multiplaza Mall during some point of their trip. The mall was built as Costa Rica’s largest of its kind and soon others followed in its footsteps. However, as soon as a larger shopping center was built, Multiplaza responded by expanding and attracting high end brands as well as popular ones.
The company behind the mall, Grupo Roble, has recently announced that constructions will begin soon on a fifth installment of 100 new shops distributed in three levels. The demand for shops has exceeded the amount that will be available which is a positive sign that business has been doing very well.
The mall’s addition will have a more European appeal as it will attract stores such as Pull and Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka and Stradivarius. The department store Siman will also be a new addition to the variety of stores at Multiplaza.
And as far as parking space, if you or anyone you know has been to Multiplaza lately, the first thing that may come to mind is parking space. The administration has had to quickly adapt measures such as using the Real Continental Hotel’s parking space across the street and transporting people on shuttle buses to the mall’s entrance.
The construction will also include two three-story parking buildings that will connect with each of the three levels of the new building.
As soon as work will be completed by October 2009, the Multiplaza Escazu Mall will be the largest shopping center in Costa Rica.
