San Jose’s busiest domestic airport, Tobias Bolanos, located in Pavas will be closed down on Thursday August 28th from 10 am to 2pm.
Located in San Jose’s western suburb area, the Tobias Bolanos airport serves as one of the most popular domestic airports in Costa Rica as well as for scheduled and chartered flights to Bocas del Toro and Panama. The Tobias Bolanos is also Nature Air’s hub. Nature Air is Costa Rica’s first C-Neutral airline and contributor to the country’s sustainable tourism movement.
The Tobias Bolanos Airport will be closed for 4 hours as part of the required evaluation each airport must undergo in order to assess its capacity to respond before an accident. The Civil Aviation General Director (DGAC) has requested the Tobias Bolanos to simulate an emergency situation in order for authorities to carry out their emergency plan for review.
Nature Air has announced that the following flights will slightly change:
- Flight 140 San Jose to Puerto Jimenez : Departs at 11:00am Arrives at 12:05pm
- Flight 420 San Jose to Fortuna : Departs at 12:00pm Arrives at 12:25pm
The above mentioned flights will operate out of the Juan Santamaria International Airport in Alajuela. Nature Air will provide a shuttle service to and from the Pavas airport and Alajuela.
