Costa Rica’s favorite domestic airline and first in the world to receive the Carbon Neutral distinction, has announced a few minor changes in its ground services at Golfito as well as a re-opening date for its flights to Puerto Jimenez.

According to the airline’s announcement, they have been forced to discontinue their ground service from the Golfito airport to the local dock and vice versa.  Nature Air has transferred the transportation unit to its main offices in San Jose due to undisclosed reasons.

However, the airline has talked to the local public transporters such as taxis and tourist buses to cover for this 1 kilometer route.  Transportation fees will have to be covered by passengers in the future.

In addition, Nature Air has announced that they have received notification from the Civil Aviation General Department that the airstrip in Puerto Jimenez will re-open by November 17th after repairs and upgrading have been completed.

Tourism influx to Costa Rica’s South Pacific region has gradually increased over the years partly due to Nature Air’s efficient flight schedule to the region.  Local National Parks and protected areas boast of unspoiled beaches and the country’s richest variety in flora and fauna as well as marine life.
