The Spanish airline Iberia, has announced that it will be added one more weekly flight to Central America.  Due to the increasing demand of availability from Spain to Central America and vive versa, Iberia has included its 5th flight frequency to begin in January 2009.

Despite of the current economic crisis that the world is going through that has slightly affected the tourism industry, Iberia has had to take action before the increasing seat demand between both Continents.

The fifth flight frequency will operate every Sunday starting January 4th and will fly from Madrid to Guatemala and Panama.  Currently, Iberia services the route every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The announcement was made by Iberia Airlines’ representatives shortly after they included their fourth frequency in this same route.  Airline representatives have stated that the acceptance as well as demand of this service has leaded them to immediately include its 5th frequency.

The Central America Travel Market organization has diligently promoted the region as a multi-destination tourism market that is surely to attract the European traveler.  The region is marketed as a whole destination that will give the tourist the opportunity of a multi-cultural experience.

Iberia Airlines is the only airline that has serviced the route between Europe and Central America in an uninterrupted fashion since 1971.
